COFFEE &

COCOA CUSTOMS BROKERS

Coffee is at the center of what we do.
Brauner International has cleared green coffee imports for decades, and we know the commodity, the trade, and the agencies that regulate it. From specialty micro-lots to full commodity volumes moving through the trading houses, we work with importers the length of their supply chain, long before the cargo ships.

Talk to us about your coffee imports.
Green coffee is an FDA-regulated food. That means Prior Notice, admissibility questions, and the real possibility of an FDA exam, a hold, or a redelivery notice at arrival. The officers and inspectors who handle food imports are fewer in number and are subject-matter experts in their field. We know how to work with them, nationwide, to communicate on our clients’ behalf and resolve issues before they turn into demurrage and detention charges.
We handle the operational realities other brokers avoid: bulk and floor-loaded containers, warehouse selection at destination, coordinating exams and sampling, and the classification and valuation questions that decide duty exposure. Not every customs broker can manage these situations. We have been doing it since 1931.
Brauner’s leaders are active members of the Green Coffee Association and the National Coffee Association, and take part in the industry’s conferences as attendees and as featured speakers. That involvement gives us firsthand knowledge of the regulatory and trade issues affecting coffee importers, and a seat at the table when those issues are decided.
