FDA to Validate FSV Email Syntax on 9/4/21

On September 4, 2021 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will deploy validation to check the syntax of the email transmitted in PG21 for the FSV entity.  This enhancement is the result of a high volume of entry lines received with an invalid syntax.

The Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) regulation requires the FSVP Importer email to be transmitted. Filers should verify the FSV email address transmitted on each entry line is valid immediately and not wait for this enhancement in order to avoid rejects when deployed.

Only transmit one valid email address as you would in an email program. Do not include names, additional characters, etc. that are not part of the valid email address.

              Valid Example                  fi********@co*****.com

              Invalid Example               < fi********@co*****.com >

              Invalid Example               FirstName LastName fi********@co*****.com

              Invalid Example               FirstName LastName < fi********@co*****.com >

              Invalid Example               fi********@co*****.com , fi********@co*****.com

This information and examples will be added to the next version of the FDA ACE Supplemental Guide.
