CBP Announces New ACE Portal Tools, Automation for Account Management

This is a reprint of CSMS message 68966469 issued on June 16, 2026

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently introduced tools and automation to streamline aspects of account management for the Automated Commercial Environment Secure Data Portal (ACE Portal).

Trade Account Owner (TAO) Account Reactivation

New CBP automation will now automatically reactivate a TAO account when the reactivation request is sent from an email address associated with a TAO account in ACE. TAOs with inactive accounts should email AC*********@*****hs.gov and include “reactivation” in the subject line. The sender will automatically be sent confirmation or follow up instructions.

REMINDER: Non-TAO users can only be reactivated by their company’s TAO. For more information, review CSMS # 68510928 – REMINDER: ACE Portal Account Owners Can Reactivate Account Users

Assistance Identifying Trade Account Owner

For assistance locating an account’s TAO, send an email to AC*********@*****hs.gov and include “Trade Account Owner Lookup” in the subject line.  New CBP automation will notify the current TAO of the lookup request and send a confirmation email back to the requestor.

ACE Portal Account Application Web Forms

CBP has developed new webforms and related automation for applying for and managing ACE Portal accounts:

  • Add sub-accounts to an existing top account
  • Add sub-account identifiers to an existing top account
  • Update TAO information
